Picnic Dress in Sweet Rose Print
Picnic Dress in Sweet Rose Print
Inspired by Sandra Dee and the "Innocent Girls" of 50's cinema, the Picnic Dress shows off arms and bare shoulders. It has a fitted midriff that the full gathered skirt hits right at the (actual period) waistline. The bib top gathers to it at bust points and across the back. The armholes and neckline are bound with contrasting fuchsia cotton with green Ric-rac peeking out from under that extend to tie at shoulders. Invisible zipper up back, and fuchsia cotton tie belt that can be worn with or without.
The size is Medium (modern 10-12). The dressform it's on measures 39" bust, 29" waist, and 39" hip (not that it matters here). The skirt length is 25". The bodice is made in such a way that alterations are fairly simple. There might be another 1 1/2" that can be let out.
Can be machine washed in warm, or Dry-cleaned. Cannot be made again.
